SITE-WIDE LEGAL NOTICE

Disclaimer & terms of educational use

Please read this notice before relying on Supply Chain Ideas content, tools, forecasts, game scores or downloads.

Last updated: 29 October 2026 · Applies to: supplychainideas.com and its pages, tools and downloadable materials.

In short: this is an independent educational website. Its articles, examples, calculators, simulations and FBS output are general learning materials. They are not a substitute for qualified professional advice or for a company’s approved systems, records, controls or statutory reporting.

1. Who operates this website

Supply Chain Ideas is an independent educational website created by Akshay Kaushal. The site does not, by that fact alone, represent a registered company, employer, client, software vendor, university, industry body or government agency. Unless a page expressly says otherwise, no such organization sponsors, approves, reviews or endorses this site or its content. Names, product marks and trademarks belong to their respective owners and are used only to identify referenced products or organizations.

2. General educational information only

Content is provided for general education and discussion. It is not tailored to your business, role, circumstances, jurisdiction or risk tolerance. Nothing on the site creates an adviser-client, accountant-client, auditor-client, lawyer-client, employment, partnership, agency or fiduciary relationship. You are responsible for independently checking facts, assumptions and suitability before acting.

Supply-chain plans depend on actual demand, inventory status, lead times, capacity, supplier commitments, service targets and other local constraints. Examples may simplify or omit these factors. Do not treat an example or suggested approach as a universal operating recommendation.

3. FBS and financial projections

The FBS feature is an experimental educational calculator. It can extract selectable text from five historical balance-sheet PDFs and an inventory forecast PDF, but extraction can be incomplete or wrong. The user must check every year, line item, sign, currency, unit and value against the original statements. Scanned PDFs may not be readable by the tool.

The current illustration extrapolates selected historical balance-sheet amounts, uses a manually reviewed next-year inventory value and calculates cash as a balancing residual. This is not a complete integrated financial model: it does not independently forecast profit and loss, cash flows, tax, financing, depreciation, working-capital drivers, accounting adjustments or management actions. A balancing cash figure is not a cash-flow forecast or evidence that funds will be available.

FBS output is not an audited, reviewed, approved or statutory financial statement; it is not prepared to assure compliance with the Companies Act, applicable accounting standards, Ind AS, IFRS or any reporting framework. Do not file, publish, lend against, invest on, value a business from, or make a material business decision solely from an FBS output. Have a qualified accountant/Chartered Accountant and relevant finance professionals validate assumptions and results.

4. No financial, investment, accounting, tax or legal advice

The site does not provide personalized investment recommendations, securities research, portfolio advice, lending decisions, credit ratings, accounting opinions, audit opinions, tax advice or legal advice. It does not recommend buying, selling or holding any security or investment product. Seek advice from a professional appropriately qualified and, where required, registered for the service you need. A disclaimer cannot convert a regulated service into an unregulated one; the actual service and conduct matter.

5. Forecasts, calculators, simulations and games

Forecast Lab, planning calculators, capstone, simulator, weekly challenge and Supply Plan Sprint use simplified methods, fictional scenarios, user inputs or illustrative costs. Results can be inaccurate, incomplete, stale, or unsuitable for your case. A model described as “AI-style” is not necessarily an AI service or trained model. No tool promises forecast accuracy, savings, service levels, profit, funding, business results or a specific outcome.

Game scores and display names are user-submitted and may be incomplete, duplicated or manipulated. A leaderboard is for informal learning only. It is not independently audited, a verified skill credential, or a competition for prizes. Do not submit confidential, personal or employer data to public display fields.

6. Research, sources and third-party material

Research notes are summaries and commentary, not the original studies. A source label reflects the information shown by the cited publisher at the time it was checked; publication status and access can change. Read the linked work for its methods, scope and limitations. Practical commentary is the site's interpretation and should not be attributed to the researchers.

We aim to create original explanations and visuals and to identify external sources. Third-party content, quotations, names, logos, datasets and links remain subject to their owners' rights and the terms or licences that apply. A citation is not permission to reproduce protected material. If you believe material on this site infringes your rights, contact the creator through the public Contact page with the page link, the material and a way to verify the claim; a good-faith report will be reviewed.

7. Your files, data and permissions

In the current FBS implementation, selected PDFs are read in the browser on your device; that feature does not send the PDF contents to this website's server or save them to an account. The website still makes ordinary network requests to load pages and assets, and the hosting provider may process technical request information under its own terms. Browser extensions, device software and your network may also affect privacy.

Use only files and data you own or are authorized to process. Do not upload or enter trade secrets, employer/client/supplier records, personal data, credentials, confidential forecasts or information restricted by law, contract or policy. You are responsible for obtaining necessary authority, notices and permissions. The local FBS workflow is not a promise that every third-party service involved in your browsing has no access to other data.

Basic reading and most tools do not require an account. Saved simulator progress may use email/password accounts after Supabase setup. Authentication, verification email and password-reset messages are handled by the configured Supabase project. Each saved simulator record is protected by row-level security. The site's Privacy & use page describes intended data handling; Supabase's own privacy/security terms also apply. Do not use account features for sensitive business records.

8. Intellectual property and permitted use

Unless identified otherwise, original text and graphics created for this site are presented for personal, non-commercial learning and reference. Do not republish substantial site material, remove attribution, imply endorsement, or use it commercially without permission, except where applicable law or an open licence permits. Third-party source content remains owned by its respective rights holder. You may link to public pages and share their URLs.

Use the site lawfully and do not disrupt it, attempt unauthorized access, introduce malicious code, interfere with another visitor, or misrepresent another person. Nothing here limits rights that cannot lawfully be restricted.

9. External sites and availability

Links to LinkedIn, research publishers, service providers and other websites are provided for convenience. We do not control or guarantee their content, security, availability, privacy practices or terms. Review their notices before using them. Pages, tools and downloads may change or be unavailable; no uninterrupted or error-free service is promised.

10. Warranties and liability

To the extent permitted by applicable law, the website and its content are provided “as is” and “as available”, without a promise that they are complete, accurate, current, uninterrupted, secure or fit for a particular purpose. To the extent permitted by law, the creator is not liable for indirect, incidental, special or consequential loss arising from use of or reliance on this site, including business interruption, lost profit, lost data or decisions made from an illustrative forecast.

This wording does not exclude or restrict any liability, remedy or consumer right that applicable law does not allow to be excluded or restricted. It does not excuse fraud, deliberate misconduct or any other liability that cannot legally be disclaimed. Nothing in this notice is a guarantee that the site complies with every law in every location.

11. Privacy and separate notices

This page is a central educational-use and liability notice. It is not a complete privacy policy, cookie notice, subscription consent, user agreement, grievance mechanism or service contract. Where a separate privacy or service notice applies, read it as well. Applicable mandatory rights and legal obligations continue to apply regardless of this notice.

12. Applicable law, updates and contact

This notice is intended for a public educational website operated from India. Indian law applies to the extent applicable, subject to mandatory protections and rules on jurisdiction. Any dispute is subject to the competent courts with jurisdiction under applicable law; this paragraph does not create jurisdiction where the law does not permit it.

We may revise this notice when the site or applicable requirements change. The date above identifies the latest revision. For a correction, rights concern or question about this notice, use the public Contact page. Do not send confidential documents or sensitive personal information through social messaging.
