FBS — A New Forecasting Tool
Explore a practical connection between inventory planning and a next-year balance-sheet scenario.
Bring the operational plan into the financial view.
Demand and inventory plans often sit apart from financial forecasts. FBS is an early educational tool that helps make that relationship easier to explore: it combines historical balance-sheet reports with a reviewed inventory forecast, then shows a transparent one-year scenario.
What makes the tool useful?
Connect planning and finance
See how a next-year inventory estimate appears alongside asset, liability and equity scenarios.
Review the assumptions
Inspect extracted data, correct values, keep reporting units consistent and see how each line is estimated.
Create a shareable learning report
Download the scenario as CSV or print it for a discussion about working capital, risk and planning choices.
How to use FBS
- Select five annual balance-sheet PDFs, ordered from oldest to newest.
- Select one five-year inventory forecast PDF with selectable text.
- Review and correct every extracted value; enter the next-year inventory value from the report.
- Generate the next-year scenario and inspect its assumptions and balance check.
Privacy, limits and careful use
PDF text extraction happens locally in the visitor’s browser. The tool accepts PDF files only; scanned image PDFs may not contain selectable text, and OCR is not included. Review all figures, units, signs and year labels. The output is an educational scenario—not an audited statement, accounting conclusion, investment recommendation, lending decision or operational financial forecast. Use only data you are authorized to process and do not upload confidential records unless your organization permits it.
